I'm flying in from out of town. Which airport should I fly into to?
Santa Rosa (STS) is the closest airport to Petaluma (~25 minutes) but doesn't have as many direct flights from the east coast - most likely with a layover at LAX (If you're coming from LA, STS is a great option through Alaska). You can rent a car or take an Uber/Lyft/taxi from Santa Rosa to Petaluma.
SFO and Oakland Airport will have more flights and are about an hour away from Petaluma. You can either rent a car or take a bus through Groome Transportation to Petaluma. The bus is fast, comfy, has WiFi, and drops you off a 5 min drive from downtown Petaluma (Petaluma Fairgrounds stop).
Do I need to rent a car?
This depends on what you would like to do while you are in Petaluma. If you would like to explore Sonoma/Napa, want more freedom getting around, or are staying far from downtown, we recommend you rent a car.
If you plan on staying in the heart of downtown, Petaluma is very walkable and shuttles will be provided to and from the wedding. Ubers and Lyfts can be a little limited in Petaluma. We recommend you schedule your cars ahead, especially for the airport. And of course cabs still exist!
What is considered downtown Petaluma?
The area between Prospect St, Water St, D St, and Howard St. Check out www.visitpetaluma.com for more info.
Where should I stay?
Check out the hotel page for some hotel options! In addition to hotels, you can also stay at an AirBnb or VRBO. The shuttles to and from the wedding will be located at Hotel Petaluma and The First Presbyterian Church on B Street.
How do I get to the wedding?
Shuttles will be provided to and from the wedding at Hotel Petaluma and The First Presbyterian Church on B Street. You can park in the church parking lot or on the surrounding side streets. Ubers and Lyfts are not permitted at the venue.
Can I skip the shuttle and drive to the wedding instead?
Parking is limited on the property. For now, we are reserving parking only for family. If you plan on driving, please try to coordinate filling up your car with additional guests.
Are children allowed at the wedding?
Sorry, this one’s just for the grown-ups! Join us for an adults-only celebration.
I have another question!
We only have the basics at the moment on the Q & A but we will be updating with more information as we get closer to the event! Feel free to reach out to us directly if it can’t wait.
